Natural Formation:
Pearl is a biogenic gemstone, formed organically inside m,.ollusks(especially oysters and mussels) when an irritant {like a grain of sand or parasite) enters the mollusk’s shell. To protect itself, the mollusk secretes layers of nacre (mother-of-pearl)-a combination of aragonite (a crystalline form of calcium carbonate) and conchiolin (an organic protein)-around the irritant, eventually forming a lustrous pearl.
